$300k Invested into Entrepreneurs in Armenia and
Georgia to Reduce Inequality
Completing the Journey: Wrapping Up Over 15 Years of Community Impact Investments in the Caucasus:
We want to sincerely thank our friends and investors for their patience as we continue to work through the final stages of our two remaining impact investments in the Caucasus. Our recent trip to Georgia and Armenia was focused on strengthening these key partnerships and establishing clearer repayment timelines.
Developments in Georgia:
In Georgia, we visited the boutique hotel project run by "George." Our repayment strategy remains centered on George’s land sale to a nearby developer. This process is moving, albeit slowly, tied to planning approvals. To help manage the outstanding balance, we have asked his local partner, "Paata," to help set up a schedule for interim payments from George's family.
Developments in Armenia: Skills for Youth:
In Armenia, we connected with "Anahit" about her hotel project. Beyond the hospitality jobs it creates, this facility will also support a local initiative that trains young people to produce high-quality ceramics. Anahit expects to resume final interior work this winter once her bank funding is released. We acknowledged the challenges she faces with bureaucratic delays and confirmed her commitment to making regular payments until the main financing is in place.
Closing the Financial Gap:
The full capital repayment in Armenia is linked to a finalized property sale by Anahit’s partner, "Vazgen." A buyer is secured, and contracts are complete. While a recent deadline was missed due to slow administrative processes common in the region, the underlying agreement is sound.
We remain confident that we are extremely close to repaying 100% of capital to all investors. We are grateful for your support of these valuable community ventures.
Testimonial:
Working with Angello gave us partnership and support with like-minded people who are also committed to going to the difficult places. It also provided us with sources of investment.
