Acts Community

Acts Communities in many ways resemble the power house of the early Apostles. Diversified personalities, diversified skills and experiences, but unified in their calling to follow him. When Jesus had left them after commissioning them with a clear but daunting task, they went on translating what they had seen him do into meeting needs and solving problems, by his authority, on their mission throughout the world. We still do that today.

Entrepreneurs in many ways carry the role of the apostles in today’s society, meeting needs and solving problems, and the Acts Communities are “bands of brothers and sisters” supporting one another in spearheading his kingdom life into the marketplace, for the transformation of people and societies.

The Apostles were followed by many others who through their lives implemented the kingdom life in all relationships and spheres of influence, and a movement was born that we are still a part of today.

To dare and to endure

The Angello Tribe was born out of the realisation that we carried that same calling and needed the support of one another to dare and to endure. Our mission has become to enable entrepreneurial ecosystems to grow in emerging markets, through national apostolic leaders.

As all entrepreneurial leaders they are by design equipped with a strong will and determination, which makes it challenging for them to choose dependency and vulnerability in relation to others. But that is exactly what we need to walk in step with Jesus, and survive the lonely and targeted position as entrepreneurs.

We believe that God fearing, Jesus following entrepreneurs will carry much of the kingdom influence into both our own nations and into the not yet reached part of the world. That is still the same daunting task, and Jesus is still the one who has been given all authority in heaven and on earth. That is why we still push forward.

A 1st century community in the 21st century

To build unity in the matrix of diversity, we need to scale back all the extra curricula we have built around faith and following and go back to the very beginning, to imagine the focus and life of the first Apostles. To build a 1st century apostolic community in the 21st century, and we call that Acts Communities.

What does it mean? Well, that is a very good question and we are still figuring this out by walking it out the entrepreneurial way. It is a journey! Just as we entrepreneurs do not sit down to theorise endless hours until we have perfected our business model, but rather make assumptions and go out to test them among people. We follow the same pattern to find out what looks like Jesus way and seem to make sense for us here and now.

We believe in Acts Communities as an expression of commitment and love, a safe place to find belonging, to be challenged and held accountable, emulating the life of the early Apostles.
